Purple Fest at Rashtrapati Vhaban
Historic celebration of unity in diversity witnessed at Purple Fest 2024 held at Rashtrapati Bhawan Rashtrapati Bhavan hosted ‘Purple Fest’, a celebration of diversity for promoting inclusion of Divyang-jan. The fest was organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Our All India UCO Bank Divyangjan Employees Welfare Association representative also participated in the purple Fest to show our commitment toward our communities inclusivity agenda ,Honourable President of India Droupadi Murmu addressed Diffrently able participants and shared her love for the divyangjan community and also witnessed cultural performances by Divyangjan in Amrit Udyan.
Workshop On Disability Awareness & Sensitisation Programme
The All India All India UCO Bank Divyangjan Employees Welfare Association (AIUCBDEWA) is pleased to inform that we had conducted Disability Awareness and Sensitization Program on June 23, 2024, starting at 9.30 AM for Divyangian Employees of UCO Bank. Our organization established on March 17, 2023, and is dedicated to combating discrimination and is committed to inclusivity, equality, and empowerment.
Representatives from various states participating in this workshop, reflecting the wide‐reaching impact and importance of this initiative. Understanding and support for individuals with disability.
The agenda includes an introduction to All India UCO Bank Divyangian Employees Welfare Association by our General Secretary, highlighting our organization’s role in uplifting the Divyangian community. This will be followed by inspiring words from AGM Harish Tanwar and insights on societal responsibility towards Divyangian and the Right of Persons with Disability (RPWD) Act 2016 and various Govt guidelines by our guest of honor, Deputy Director Dipak Singla (DDA).
We are very thankful to all the backend supporting organization from UCO Bank management to central Government organizations, State Government organization, PSU and PSB, NGO to spread more awareness and appraise our initiative towards Divyangian community upliftment works.
All India UCO Bank Employees Welfare Association Champions Disability Awareness on World Disability Day
Kolkata, December 2, 2024: The All India UCO Bank Divyangjan Employees Welfare Association marked the eve of World Disability Day by hosting a successful press meet at the Kolkata Press Club. The event drew an impressive gathering of approximately 40 media representatives from both print and electronic media, who actively participated in the program centered on disability awareness.
The press meet served as a crucial platform for promoting inclusivity, accessibility, and equality for people with disabilities. The association’s efforts to raise awareness about disability rights and empowerment resonated deeply with the attending media personnel, who showed enthusiasm in covering the event.
The association’s initiative to observe World Disability Day underscores its commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. By leveraging the press meet as a catalyst for change, the association aims to inspire a broader societal shift towards greater empathy, understanding, and support for individuals with disabilities.
The All India UCO Bank Divyangjan Employees Welfare Association expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the media for their overwhelming support in amplifying the voices of people with disabilities.
Empowering Through Art : UCO Bank Divyangjan Employees Welfare Association Celebrates 3rd Foundation Day IN Collboration With Government college of ART & Craft ,Agartala,Lichubagan
On the occasion of its *3rd Foundation Day, the **All India UCO Bank Divyangjan Employees Welfare Association, in collaboration with the **Government College of Art & Craft, Agartala, organized a **Drawing Competition* on *17th March 2025*.
The event was held under the inspiring theme of *“Divyangjan Sashaktikaran” (Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities). Around **80–85 enthusiastic students* of the college participated, showcasing their creativity and talent through thought-provoking and meaningful paintings. The young artists used their brushes and colors to portray powerful messages of inclusivity, empowerment, and resilience.
After a careful evaluation, the *best 10 paintings* were selected and recognized by the Association for their outstanding artistic excellence and depth of expression. To honor the winners, a *Prize Distribution Ceremony* was organized on *28th March 2025*.
The event was graced by the presence of *Shri Ritankar Kundu, Zonal Manager, UCO Bank, Agartala Zonal Office, and **Shri Abhijit Bhattachariya*, Principal-in-Charge of Government College of Art & Craft, who jointly felicitated the winners with prizes and words of encouragement.
This initiative reflected the Association’s commitment not only to the empowerment and welfare of Divyangjan employees but also to spreading awareness about inclusivity among the younger generation. By engaging students in such a meaningful artistic endeavor, the program successfully highlighted the importance of empathy, creativity, and collective responsibility in building an inclusive society.
All India UCO Bank Divyangjan Employees Welfare Association Advocates for Inclusivity
In a significant step towards promoting inclusivity and empowering the Divyangjan community, the All India UCO Bank Divyangjan Employees Welfare Association met with top government officials in New Delhi on June 24, 2024. The association’s delegation had the privilege of meeting with the Chief Commissioner of Persons with Disabilities (CCPD) from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, as well as the Dy.Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
The purpose of the meeting was to advocate for the upliftment of Divyangjan employees within UCO Bank and ensure the implementation of government policies aimed at protecting their rights. Critical measures to enhance inclusivity and support for Divyangjan employees were discussed, with a focus on providing them with equal opportunities and rights in line with national directives.
This meeting marks a crucial step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive work
79th Independence Day – Disability Awareness Cycathalon at Ujjayanta Palace, Agartala,15th August 2025:
The All India UCO Bank Divyangjan Employees Welfare Association, established on 17th March 2023 with the noble mission of promoting non-discrimination, equality, and empowerment of differently-abled employees in the banking sector and beyond, successfully organized a Disability Awareness Cycathalon Rally in collaboration with the Agartala Cycloholics Foundation on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day.
The event was flagged off from the historic Ujjayanta Palace by Shri Sanjeev Roy, Zonal Manager, UCO Bank, Agartala Zonal Office, and Shri Subhrangshu Bhakta Chowdhury, General Secretary, All India UCO Bank Divyangjan Employees Welfare Association.
A total of 45 cyclists participated, representing all age groups – from young riders under 12 years to senior cyclists aged above 60. The participants gathered at 6:30 AM at the Ujjayanta Palace premises and pedaled through the city’s key locations, spreading the message of inclusivity, empathy, and equal opportunities for all. The presence of both young and elderly riders reflected the unifying spirit of the event.
During the program, Shri Subhrangshu Bhakta Chowdhury, General Secretary of the Association, felicitated Shri Sanjeev Roy and Gopesh Debnath – Bicycle Mayor of Agartala, faculty member at the Government College of Art & Craft, and leader of the Agartala Cycloholics team – in recognition of their continuous efforts towards promoting cycling, road safety, and social awareness. The gesture was warmly appreciated by all, making it a memorable and inspiring moment.
The event concluded with a collective pledge to continue working towards an inclusive and accessible society where everyone, regardless of abilities, can contribute and thrive.
